First USB 3.0 product certified

According to Engadget, the first certified product that features USB 3.0 will be NEC’s xHCI host controller. Not the most interesting gadget that you can have it’s a start. Later on, companies will be showcasing more USB 3.0 gear at upcoming trade shows such as a Buffalo external hard drive, an ExpressCard-to-USB 3.0 adapter and even a full-on laptop with a functioning USB 3.0 port. The 3.0 receptor ports can be used to be 2.0 cables and gadgets but at 2.0 speed. Also, USB 3.0 wares will be able to connect via older USB 2.0 sockets, though again at a slower rate.
