With the new iPod Nano being packed with features, such as a FM Radio, Video Camera, Pedometer, metallic paint job and a wider screen, users may point out that the poor iPod Classic, has been completely neglected, and the iPod touch merely got a better CPU. The iPod’s updates were pretty much overshadowed by the grumbling of most atendees, who were anticipating much newer, shiner products from Apple.
But then again, if all the iPod Touch recieved was a new CPU, iTunes 9 certainly seems to be geared towards the iPod touch, and it’s meatier cousin, the iPhone. The most significant change in iTunes 9, is that applications for the devices can be managed on the computer, with applications and the like being able to be downloaded from the computer. The display, and organization of the icons on the device can also be arranged. There are other additions to iTunes 9, especially the addition of wish lists, iTunes LP and Extras wrappers for albums and movies. It’s a smart way to encourage iPod owners to use iTunes, and supposedly, a boon to the recording industry, who will recieve data about the buying habits of consumers.
