Android Based Phone is Not Going To Be iPhone Killer

I just read few blogs writing how Dell is going to come up with and Android OS Phone and be the iPhone Killer. I must say I am owner of G1 (Android powered) and just about a year ago I switched from iPhone for many reasons. But lets talk about why I think Android based phones are not going to be better than iPhone. At least not in near feature.

Apple has it’s own thing going on that nobody came up with and that is market place with best graphic games ever. Have you ever downloaded (java) android game and said “Wow!” This is really cool!! I haven’t, not based on GFX.

When I observed what my friends are doing with their iPhone, most of the time I saw them with some social networking app

such as Twitteriffic or playing games such as cro-mag. On top of that, how many kids have now iPhone or at least iPod Touch just because of the games!

Reasons I switched from iPhone to G1 is because:

A. Plan cost me less (25%)

B. Serious Applications such as ftp server, web server etc (No games)

C. Slide Keyboard

D. Camera

E. Open Source! Love it.

Now just in few months android will get flash 10, so things might change when it comes to graphics and developing games that look more 21st century. But untill then, I am satisified with games that look like old Atari games, you know what I mean right? ….Tetris and stuff like that.
