Is Google Dominating Which Blog Is Going To Be Popular?

For past few weeks or lets say months  I noticed Google changed their way of presenting the real statistics when it comes to traffic or back links.

Just few weeks ago when PR (Page Rank) was updating we thought our page rank is going to be PR 6 or at least PR 5 , guess what? We got PR 3!!! Yep!

So then I thought what could of be wrong? Is it because we get about 100.000 more viewers each month? Did Google make mistake?

It all comes down to backlinks!

Just few months ago we had about 700 backlinks showing up per Google Blog Search and bit over 1000 via Google Search. If you look at the stats now there is 0 backlinks via Google Blog Search and just 126 backlinks from Google Search Engine. What the hell right?

While talking to some other bloggers, we found out that they have been having same issues, but blogs that are doing well from beginning such as huffington post or gizmodo or perezhilton ….Those blogs are way up . Not that we compare our blog to those sites but seriously why would Google do such thing?

It all comes down to business, there is over 70.000 blogs open each day and they want to make that line between low traffic blogs and high traffic blogs , there is no middle guy for Google. They either shoot big or nothing, same thing goes for their apps.

I probably should talk to few google analysts that I know and ask for opinion

or comment.

By the way PR does play pretty serious part, when  it comes to advertising, page landing and other SEO factors ….

Here is what Yahoo shows for backlinks, you tell me if Google is not dominating the playrole of blogs such as ours, which just by passed 1.000.000 page views per month (Last month)
