Android 1.5 Cupcake Released Today

According to few Twitter profiles Cupcake also known as Android 1.5 has been released today for OTA update. We are awaiting for an actually image so you can download it but our recommendation is to wait until you see update on your G1 screen.

Filesize is pretty big 44mb it includes most of the master branch features and bug fixes.

Our suggestion

is to uninstall applications such as aHome and Video Recorder which we talked about last week as both applications are providing same thing that cupcake has, (video recording and keyboard)

Also users that are on Edge most likely will receive update later than the users on 3G network and that could be 1 week difference. As an example I live in Iowa and we are still on Edge , all OTA updates I received were somewhere between 3-9 days later than RC (release candidates) were officially released.
