Mashable (tech – social) blog is taking a lead over TechCrunch (tech – startup) unique visitors. By calculation, Mashable is going next month to have more unique visitors than TechCrunch unless some miracle happens.

So, how come that Mashable is getting that much popularity lately?

Answer: Twitter!

Since Mashable is on “Suggested List” you will notice according to Compete that for past two months Mashable traffic increased dramaticaly, they are not only getting traffic from top keywords, but they also get traffic from Twitter.

When Mashable posts something which gets TwitterFeeded,  Retweets (RT) bring them most of the traffic.

Imagine

getting 900-1500 retweets in one or two hours, well that’s like being on Digg Front Page for each blog post.

I am happy for them to take a lead over blogs that wrote so many bad things about Mashable.

Maybe they didn’t realize it yet until now?

You might want to forward them this blog post with simple tweet:
