Conficker Worm Can Send 400 Billion Spam Emails

Kaspersky Lab yesterday confirmed that Conficker Worm can send about 400 billion of Spam emails in less than 24 hours. They ran a analyses and came with simple calculation that 1 infected PC by Conficker botnet can send more than 42.000 spam emails now multiply that by ca. 5.000.000 infected pc’s around the world = 400 billion of email spam.

?A simple calculation shows that one Iksmas bot sends out around 80,000 emails in 24 hours. Assuming that there are 5 million infected machines out there, the botnet could send out about 400 billion spam messages over a 24-hour period!?

Now that makes Conficker one of the most powerfull worms in all time.
