Twitter Words Definition

Many new born twitters have hard time understanding what for example hashtag is or twittershpere. So I just wanted to write few words that might help you understand better. I totally understand you! , call me lame but I did not know for long time what FTW (For The Win) means.

Tweet & Twit -Tweet is your twitter submission or reply to someone

example:

ReTweet – Retweet is when you re-tweet something somebody already tweet’ed already and always starts with RT:

Hashtag – Hashtags are commonly used to create buzz, many tweeters use it for easy search on common topic. Hashtags start with #Hashtag

Twittersphere – You probably heard of blogsphere, main street media, photosphere? -? well Twittersphere is pretty much the same. You can use it in sentence like: “Twittersphere is going crazy today about earthquake in L.A” or “Media is getting faster news response from Twittersphere….”

DM – When you see someone? tweeting to you “Please DM me that link” ,that means you should send him/her direct message you can use in text box? “d username message”

example: “d Scobleizer OMG I just noticed you have lots of followers ”

suggestion: always go to direct messages and send message from there! many times people make mistakes such as writing? “DM Scobleizer OMG I just noticed you have lots of followers ” see dmfail.com to see all public direct messages!!! um YEAH lots of them!!

Twitterer – It’s twitter user

Twitterrhea - Um yeah it’s like diarrhea but on twitter , meaning: Someone sends too many tweets and it’s annoying!

Twitterholic – Thats one hard twittere! Tweets all the time, has many followers and it’s on top list @ Twitterholic.com

TwitF***k – A very anoying person much like a$$hole or jurk but in twitterpshere
