Blogs Changed Layout is it due to Economy?

Livecrunch has new facelift but not because of Economy. Others I can tell just by the ads they changed it due to advertising falling down in this tuff Economy.
So let’s start out with my closest tech blog TechCrunch
Techcrunch before had few ads on the left side that is 6 of them? and after their layout change they have 10x 125×125 ads, 2x 160-600 (i think) and above one big ad banner!(Latest Post)
Mashable took same approach just 2 weeks later they changed their layout too, before they had one or two 300×250 and few 125×125 ads and now they are pretty much close to TechCrunch big one above, 10 small on the side and few 300×250(Latest Post)
LifeHacker was always full of ads but with their layout change I can’t even tell what’s text and what is really an advertising.? But to be honest they are my favorite tech/gizmo/whatever blog.(Latest Post)
Robert Scoble ok we can’t say really much about him, this year he just said ill start advertising on my blog and thats it! I am sure it was not due to economy, because his layout change and putting ads on his blog was way before Barak Obama was even known!(Latest Post)
ChrisPirilo has not much changed except that he added new ads on his videos, duno if he is really making much more money what he made before but surely he took a good approach of adding social networks to his blog. (Latest Post)
AlleyInsider’s who still think that LiveCrunch is TechCrunch added many more ads as well on the side above and everywhere. Oh well, at least they are doing their good tech blogging via Rss Feeds
(Latest Post)
Gizmodo! They said NO to Federated Media which Chris Pirillo recently added as big banner above his blog. (Latest Post)
As for livecrunch? I actually removed all 125×125 advertising’s and I still have my two precious 300×200 ads on sidebar, one for private advertisers and one for my google sponsors. Oh and the one above came with the theme
. I don’t think ill see any change in my income from online advertising but I am sure some blogs from above will.
I asked my self is it just because they were tired of looking at the same thing for past 2-3 years? Or they added and changed layout because advertisers don’t want to spend $1000+ per week for advertising which they only receive 2000-7000 clicks?
I just hope it’s not 2001 all over again (knock on wood)
