Perfect Social Network Web App for 2009

By live crunch at 1 December, 2008, 6:50 pm

Last night I was thinking about Social Networks and what made them really “that” good? Is it the bloggermania tech news? Is it the uniqueness? Why is that MySpace, Facebook and now Twitter so popular, while Pownce is shutting down?

Perfect Social Network for 2009 would be:

Site like Twitter with quick 140-160 characters status updates, MySpace profile where you can embed everything where you can change your profile with some basic html code and Facebook to target younger audience and pay Britney Spears $25.000 to say “I love ..sitename.com….”

That would be perfect social network for 2009 which I would love to join and drop twitter, myspace and facebook instantly.

How many social networks do we really need to join to follow friends, family and people similar interest?

What would be your perfect Social Network for 2009?

It has to be something simple and yet useful. I can’t keep up with all the social networks. Way too much effort and not enough reward!

I think it would be interesting to see a site that matches users together with like minds auto generated.

Match up process would be similar to the type of Q & A that a dating site such as eharmony would provide, for example.

Combined with a project, such as wordpress.com/ free blog platform, free themes, widget-ready, all that..

For SEO purposes, it would auto add all generated contacts to blogroll immediately, up to a defined number (say, 10) the rest we add as we go along.

It would have a snippet of content from friends blog posts w/each link, that changes as they post new, embedded as a sidebar in itself.

In order to use the service, we would have to agree to a ‘green’ link or 125 x 125 banner of support of a cause from a list of causes provided. Similar to Squidoos donation options.

Each would have a page that auto generates our other social spots, like FriendFeed. It would include all of who is in our ‘unit’. So, if you are at billy bobs blog, you can access it there too.

Well…that’s a start anyway. :-)

I would definitely just like to see people pick one, sometimes its not finding the best app to do the job but finding the one that best suites the masses, I am only on more that one social sight because everyone I want to reach are spread all over like weeds…I know curse me hear but a big Microsoft like social app would be great across platforms but the same database and interlinks.

We need one that integrates other social networks. Facebook has some good apps out there that do such things. Facebook can change your status via twitter. But really integrate, I mean, I have a zune and and xbox 360. Both can show what i’ve been listening to/playing etc. But to harness what those sites offer with better applications.

I’m not saying we need a “new” Facebook/Myspace. We need Facebook to get better designed apps to harness Facebook as a portal. We don’t need more “scrabalicious,” “bumper stickers” or “gangbang wars” applications, we need more meaty, actually has some relevance, applications.
