Is DVD Red Box Competitor To BlockBuster?

by Live Crunch on November 15, 2008

Tonight I was going to do some shopping and notice 3 Red Box containers one at Wal-Mart one at Target and one while I was passing by McDonalds. Blockbuster is probably not happy about it due to competitive prices.

When I go to Blockbuster and rent movie it cost me $3.99 and I can keep it for 2 days (7 really w/o any fees) and If I go to Red Box renting movie cost me $1 per day.

Most likely I would watch the movie and return it next day which Red Box comes really handy!

But with $21 membership with blockbuster I get 5 in store exchanges and 3 movies at the time. I wonder if Red Box is going to be real competitor to Video Rental places?

  • I think RedBox is a huge competitor with Blockbuster. I've forgotten that it even exists. $1 for weekend entertainment is the best.
