I don’t know what they call it anymore flash drive, thumb drive, usb key but whatever you call it, you can now format your Laptop / PC hard drive via USB very fast. Active Kill Disk is very good low level hard drive eraser software. I used it last night and I totally love it. You can get the free version or pay 60$ for more advanced version which offers you more formating options. I would go for the Pro version only if I have some stuff to hide from FBI.

Well most of you would now argue with me by saying, why didn’t you just use windows repair tool or put linux live cd and format it that way. Well what if your CD isn’t working and you can’t load anything but USB?
