Yes I said that and there is reason for that too! Twitter just 2 days ago was peaceful web app that I very much enjoy. But today I hate it because of that stupid Twitter Election Page!
It’s selfish - on twitter you have multicultural conversations going on, you have business people talking to each other from all around the world. You also have people that don’t want to hear anything about politics. Yet you can’t miss the Election 2008 banner on your home page.

It’s spamish - Twitter Grow UP! Now you will have all those spam assholes that come to Twitter and just copy paste urls, text just to promote A. Product B. Politics C. Obama and McCain.
Twitter, you know what? At first I thought the election page is awesome, because it gives people something to debate about in politics , yet if you have 800-900 followers and more it’s not fun anymore because some “not all” twitters took advantage of that page to gain more followers and traffic to links they posted
Example: http://twitter.com/haikutwaiku that guy/girl auto-bot is so blocked! And should be reported!
Anyways I wish people of twitter would say something or vote if that page should be there or not. After all who wants to talk about politicians when whole world is just looking to make a dime today, go home and rest a little bit.
Thats my view of that election twitter page, whats yours?

I agree with you. It is looking like politics forum for last 2 days.

Get your points, especially about spam, but we thoroughly enjoyed watching the debate on tv, with that twitter page scrolling past next to it on a laptop. Provided a great barometer as to how the world at large was reacting.
And although its an American election, its hard to argue that the result doesn’t affect most people, American or not, so there is still significant relevancy to those outside the states, like myself.
Lastly, the different views these two will make a direct impact on how hard it is for people to “make a dime” in the future.

@Nik: very nice said…and I do agree that what happens in USA also impacts most-rest of the world as well. But the thing is that many countries cover the election on tv, news paper and everywhere else yet I haven’t seen social networks before doing this and I think it’s not the right place….It’s smart move from Twitter, It will gain a lot of registered peoples attention , said that …it will also gain a lot of spammers.
