Will HTC Dream Be Popular As iPhone ?
By live crunch at 18 September, 2008, 6:37 am
HTC Dream is coming out very soon, some say on September 23rd the same day T-Mobile is holding press conference and some say October 17th. For past few days media is writing about G1 just like they did for iPhone back in 2007. But will HTC Dream be popular as iphone is? How many people will stay in line for days before it comes out?
Nobody really knows what HTC Dream with Google Android OS will be capable of. Is it better then iPhone? Will ATT customers switch to T-mobile? Is HTC Dream going to be unlocked and how much will it cost? Those are some of the questions I am still looking forward to get answered.
So far we know that HTC Dream might cost $200 (reasonable price for 2 year contact) but those are still assumptions.
When you call T-Mobile customer service they wont tell you much , CS: “I think it will come out during the Christmas time), what worries me the most is that T-Mobile customer service still didn’t receive any training or troubleshooting guidelines.
Anyways subscribe to LiveCrunch RSS Feeds, stay tuned for more information. On Monday the 22nd ill post all Bloggers that will live blog (video stream) the conference , so even while you are at work you will be able to hear/read the news.

I’ve never used a smart phone before Apple joined the fray and I’ve been very happy with the user experience - warts and all. If the user experience on an Android phone is not up to the bar set by Apple then there will have to be some other great differentiator to make me want to switch. I have no clue what that could be.
No single phone will be an iPhone killer. Apple has too much of a cult following to be outdone.
That said, Android is going to change the game over the next few years, not a specific hardware device. The wealth of applications is a plus, but the ability for Google to leverage it’s ad network to deliver proximity advertising to you is the game changer. Eventually, this advertising pays for your phone… your service, etc. Mobile web expectations and VoIP on Andriod will make WiMax and next gen networks more important as data becomes of primary importance.
