According to ReadWriteWeb, Google Chrome has already taken 1% of the web browser market share in the first day of release (beta version). And it is still growing at a very rapid pace.?

According to?StatCounter, Chrome’s users have been coming from Firefox and Safari, while IE actually gained market share. However advanced Firefox users are very unlikely to switch until?Chrome supports extensions.

This might just be due to the hype around Chrome. Once it dies down, it will be interesting to see if they can continue the growth at the same pace.

Firefox 3.1 will make things interesting as far as performance comparisons are concerned.
