Looks like TechCrunch changed wordpress theme, I don’t know exactly when that happen, but looks good. I hope their google rank for certain keyword description will not change. When blogs change themes there could be also consequences by doing that. Blog Traffic can drop dramatically by using wrong headers, title, description or in some cases keywords. Front page isn’t listing whole articles that could take away big amount of google juice too. I am speaking from my own experience, my experience with changing wordpress theme, was more positive then negative, by adding more content to the front.

Whoever did the theme change was thinking good about SEO, but maybe not good enoug. Look at the latest post from TechCrunch “You, Lucky TechCrunch Readers, Don’t Have To Pay To Attend Mobilize” and the source code.

Why are they using <title> and not <h1>headers ? Also their meta description is at the wrong place. But hey who am I to tell how to design wordpress theme right?
