T-Mobile 3g Service In Most States on October 1st

According to Engadget and Boy Genius Report T-Mobile is going to server 3G network nationwide on October 1st (its about time!) . I wonder what 3g phones are they going to provide later this year? Would be nice to have touch screen phone , no I am not talking about the “Wing” which looks like blue colored brick.
Is T-Mobile still a viable option in the U.S.? Without something major in their offerings in terms of handsets I am not sure they would be a company to drive a mass migration from the fans of Verizon or AT&T.
