Economy Affecting Technology Blogs

Economy around the world is affecting Technology News on internet. Just look around the blogsphere, how much information are you getting now vs a year ago or just few months ago. I am a bit disappointed when I wake up early morning and see that my favorite blogs write same BS what they wrote week ago, or copy one from another because there is really nothing important to write about. Tech Blogs now provide content these days about Apple, Microsoft, Yahoo, Google and few acquisitions here and there, and thats it!

Take this week for example. I don’t think there was any quality content posted, everybody is writing/talking about MySpace and Facebook changing the design. Or Iphone this Iphone that.

Personally I don’t think thats anyhow relevant to real tech people. If website looks blue today and green by tomorrow to me that is just an upgrade/downgrade but not news.

News to me is when I find out that new Linux distribution is out which updated kernel or Ebay was shut down for 10 hours because some jurk hacked their servers and they deserved it because their Security system sucks, thats news to me!

I just hope that all will change where blogs like Mashable, TechCrunch, Gizmodo, LifeHacker, Cnet, Webwere, ReadWriteweb, The Register, Reuters, NYT and others start writing unique posts, with stuff that’s interesting for tech people. Even Digg is not what it suppose to be anymore, every peace of crap is going on tech front page!

If you don’t agree with me, checkout the old archives of blogs above that will tell you enough that economy does affect technology as well as technology news blogs write about.

What is tech news to you?

I think you do have a point yet “tech websites” have adapted the celebrity POV in which they know what will bring readers in. Instead of speaking on issues such as you suggested they do the ‘fluff’ b/c that’s what today’s people ‘want’ – yet there is a demographic for REAL tech heads that want to know more about what is going on behind the scenes.

@Nathan Driver: That is what I am trying to stay, i mean I do same thing as other bloggers do because people “want” to hear that, yet my self I complain about where is the real “tech news” i mean talking about some BS company that build api for twitter isnt news i want to hear :)

Japan’s economy is the most sensitive economy in the industrial world, and is mainly affected by the Asian economics. Blogsphere
