Hey, I downloaded the file but for some reason it saved as .rar instead of .ipsw
Anyone know why’s this?
Should I delete and re-download or compress it?
Sorry, I’m not a huge techie-geek and I don’t usually do these file downloads but I was SOOO pissed off you can’t use an iTunes card to buy it in Canada that I decided screw paying for it. So if it’s something really obvious that I messed up to most, sorry, I’m new to this.

What I meant to say is there a way to convert the .rar to .ipsw?
hehe, ur so silly, “.rar” is a compression format. much like a zip file. go to http://rarlabs.com and download winrar. once u download it, double click the .rar file and u will see the .ipsw file inside of it. the .rar file is like a taped up folder, and u use the program to untape it (unrar it). when u see the file, drag and drop it to ur desktop or somewhere. and now, u have ur file. just go update in itunes.
If anyone needs max speed, I’ve uploaded the firmware to rapidshare. If you have dsl, you can just turn off, then turn on your modem after each part so you don’t have to wait. The links are below in 3 parts.
