Tomorrow Jul 17th you can start registering .ME domain names they are pricey ($24 per year) and requires 2 year registration. Few of my domain friends which I sometimes hate said “there is no value” in dot ME domains unless you register sex.me porn.me which are already taken. I pre-registered my name yesterday and final cost was $49.00 for two years.

Places you can register .ME

GoDaddy.com and DomainMonster.com if you are going to buy .ME I would recommend using DomainMonster over GoDaddy just because they offer more tools and it’s less expensive for extra features.

I’ve tried GoDaddy & they don’t allow registration I’ll be checking out DM. Thanks for the heads up!

@Nathan Driver: DM will def. work that’s why I said I recommend DM:) because they also accept pre-registrations

2 weeks later and over 100,000 dot me domains have been registered. Focusing on their marketing potential is the website http://www.dotmewebsites.com where interesting names can be promoted for free.
