My Yahoo (a customized homepage) has rolled it’s new redesigned interface. Although this new interface was available as an upgrade since a year ago, Yahoo has now made it available to everyone.
Some new features that are included in this release are:
- More modules that integrate content from other parts of Yahoo’s network (Flickr photos, Calendar, Movie Showtimes)
- Better support for Third party email (Gmail, POP) and other services (Netflix and Facebook)
- More layout options, tabbed browsing, other navigational improvements

My problem with Yahoo! has always been this extended “BETA” period of theirs. Yahoo!360 for example was in “BETA” for over 2 years before they finally pulled the plug on future enhancements, much to the dismay of the faithful.
Here I thought this new design was actually PROD. For the first time you have made me aware of the fact that it was indeed in “BETA” for a year.
Am I the only one who finds this a bit much?
@simplyRik - I’m definitely with you on that one. It gets really boring when a service or site is in beta for too long. Another great example is Jaiku. Although it is not in beta, it has been invite only for a longer time (I think a year? Since Google acquired it).
