No I am not with AOL but I was about 8 years ago when only dialup existed in my world, and T1 was about $3.000 per month. Few days ago friend of mine asked me “how do I cancel my aol account”.

So our conversation went like this:

ME: Are you serious? You still pay 21+tax for dial-up yet you know that our cable company is offering 10mpbs for $29 per month?

Friend:Yes that’s why I want to Cancel my AOL Account !

ME: Well what happen when you call them?

Friend: I got frustrated and they just hang up on me without canceling the account!

ME: Call them back and be nice as you can, don’t accept any offers like 5 months free just tell them “Can you hear me now? CANCEL MY ACCOUNT click click…

ME: Here is the phone number 800-827-6364 call them at 3pm when you know they are not about to leave home (1st shift) and they are not on lunch.

He called me up the today he said thanks, so I wanted to share that story with you because I bet there is so many people on AOL and want to get rid of it yet don’t get through or they are stuck with some offers.
