Mark Elliot Zuckerberg founder and CEO of Facebook whose networth is $1.5 billion and rising is not only in it for the money but for the love of social networking. Facebook today has roughly 70 million users and is still going strong as the second biggest social networking website. Facebook is competing against MySpace who have 200 million users. Anyways, before I get off track there is much more I could mention about Facebook and their glory to fame, but todays topic is focused on child safety with Facebook.

Before, only Ivy League college students were connected to Facebook because it started of with Harvard University and has spread along the coast which eventually has become available to 2000 colleges and universities all over America. Since college students were the only once using Facebook there was no problem regarding explicit and inappropriate material, but now the popular social networking website is available to anybody who registers.

Now that everybody is able to view Facebook it faces a problem that potential convicted sex offenders and other criminals or creeps may view the site. Children at young ages may be in harm with explicit and inappropriate material which is not the best thing for them.

So, to all parents and worried adults Facebook is adding new programs and software to keep such people out and make the website a safer site and environment for the future. Not only that but it will go back to only letting adults sign in at the age of 18.

If you have any more questions and concerns please feel free to comment and I will be more than happy to answer them.
