Things I Hate About Twhirl Review

So by few of my favorite bloggers I was told to use twhirl in order to keep up with all tweets and FriendFeed. At first I liked Twhirl it does everything I want it to do, send messages to friendfeeds updates FF with my RSS feeds and I keep up with all others that subscribed to FF as well AS TWIT..

Things I hate about Twhirl is that, person I follow does not follow me, obviously I can’t send them direct message unless they send me first correct?

Well it just happened that DoshDosh (Maki) sent me direct message and I can’t replay to him via twhirl while if I go on the web I can do that.

I also set time to 1-3 seconds to update me yet that thing updates me every few minutes so I constantly have to click on refresh button.

Even though my default browser is mozilla firefox twhirl ignores it and opens up everything in Internet Explorer.

This might look like I am crying about things that I really shouldn’t be , but lets be honest, if you create software that has such bugs I think software developers should consider fixing it. If I set my option for default browser to be FireFox then I really don’t want to have IE popping up on my screen I hate windows overall but I am forced to use it.

Is there anything you hate about Thwirl ? Like domain name or “name” you have to remember really hard core is it Twirl , Twhirl, Thwirl or Thirl ?

Over all I like the software and kudos to software developers for creating such program and making twitter and friendfeeds easy to read/follow/track ….

  1. My biggest complaint is all of the messages that Twhirl goes thru every time it starts up. But, that’s not really Twhirl’s fault.
I don’t want to see all my replies every time.

Otherwise, I don’t have any of the problems you are highlighting….

  2. Just thought you might like to know that your Friendfeed link is broken (it goes to Friendfeeds :)

  3. I also set time to 1-3 seconds to update me yet that thing updates me every few minutes so I constantly have to click on refresh button.
Twitter allows max. 70 requests per hour. (you would have seen that if you looked at the Network settings. If you use them up hitting refresh, then you won’t be able to send or receive any messages let alone direct messages

Even though my default browser is mozilla firefox twhirl ignores it and opens up everything in Internet Explorer.
I’d suggest that fx is NOT your default browsewr; I have no problems with profiles, links and # tags opening in the correct browser.
